Course Objectives The aim of the course is to explain the insulation of water, heat, sound and fire insulation in building structures; to teach the principles laid down by standards and regulations and to teach the materials used in insulation as well as the principles of applications.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Will be able to interpret noise, sound intensity, frequency definitions, physical and psychological negative effects of noise,
  • Will be able to define water insulation materials and application methods,
  • Will be able to define thermal insulation materials and application methods
  • Will be able to define sound insulation materials and application methods
  • Will be able to define fire insulation materials and application methods
Course Description Interactions of water and building elements, the damages of water on structures, application procedures, thermal insulation, general information about the energy, basic information about the temperature and heat transfer, the definitions of sound, noise, frequency decibels, sound intensity, physical and psychological effects of noise, sound insulation materials and application procedures, relevant regulations, fire insulation and fire-proofing materials.
